Silver Lining
Whenever you are sad and lost,
You may call on me.
I'll be right there by your side,
I'll help you're heart break free.
Through painful times and any loss,
I am here for you.
Confide in me your deepest fears,
And I will see you through.
Life can be hard, and so unfair,
Your prayers seem unanswered.
But if you ask, I'll comfort you,
Without a single word.
I'll be the hand that guides you through,
A shoulder for your tears.
There is no pain you cannot shed.
I'll erase your fears.
If you need a listening ear,
Or maybe some advie,
Always remember, I am here,
And nothing is my price.
Just call me up, or send a note,
And I'll be on my way.
No questions asked, if you need me,
I'll try to save the day.
I cannot make you promises,
To ease your suffering,
But, guaranteed, given the chance,
I'd try most anything.
I want to be there through your life,
To help you any way.
And should you ever need a friend,
I'll be there when you say.
Through any time-both good and bad,
I promise to abide.
I'm here for you, no matter what,
I'll never leave your side.

Empty
My insides are dying
From all of this pain,
My soul is empty,
My heart is a drain.
No love could fill
The vastness of space,
You left in my heart
When you lied to my face.
My soul is a cavern of dishonesty.
You left me to whither,
And break carelessly.
You tore down my wall
That I built just for you,
A wall filled with love,
But my love wouldn't do.
My heart keeps breaking
As I think of our past,
And all of the promises
To make friendship last.
But you've made me cry
For much too long,
I'm tired of forgiving
All the things you've done wrong.
I'm tired of the lies,
And being apart.
Trying to fix things
Has broken my heart.
So this is good-bye
To our happiness.
And hello to what's left-
Lonely dreams and emptiness.

I miss the notes that filled my drawers,
Because of boring school.
I miss singing songs at hockey practice,
Thinking we were just so cool.
I miss the voice that scolded me,
When I put myself down.
I miss the late-night rendezvous,
When we would trash the town.
I miss the sobbing apologies,
After we had a fight.
I miss not sleeping because of talks,
That lasted through the night.
I miss not going to class,
Because the teacher didn't care.
I miss the way we cheated at games,
Just to make them fair.
I miss frescantis and cheese fries,
And going places we didn't belong.
I miss driving all over Denver,
While yelling that Shania song.
I miss the high school dances,
That we just couldn't make.
I miss getting 'A's on Botany tests,
We didn't even take.
I miss when we would laugh at things,
That no one else would get.
I miss when we used to argue,
About how we actually met.
I miss dreaming about the future,
And planning our whole lives through.
But I don't miss any memory,
More than I miss you.

I Forgive You
You apologize for everything,
And I don't know why you do.
Everyone makes mistakes sometimes,
So why shouldn't you?
You've already said you're sorry,
About a million times, or more,
And I just don't understand it,
When there's nothing to be sorry for.
After all is said and done,
You come running after me.
I told you I'd be fine.
Why can't you let it be?
You say you still feel bad,
About the other day.
I told you I forgave you,
And there's nothing more to say.
It's like you can't accept the fact,
That I'll love you no matter what.
And I think it's because, in all you past,
Everyone else has given up.
Just remember this one simple thing,
My forever, dearest friend-
Through all our hardest, troublesome times,
I'll stand by you 'til the end.
There's no need for thousands of apologies.
One honest "sorry" will do.
No matter what you do, or how bad it seems,
I will always forgive you.

I can't think of anyone
I need more than you,
To be my whole life,
No one else would do.
I will always love you,
You are my best friend.
I'll stand by you forever,
Even after the end.
No matter who comes along,

What are friends for?
In any kind of weather,
Be it rain or shine,
